Higashikawa town is located in central Hokkaido and is a part of Japan's largest national park – Daisetsuzan National Park. Higashikawa's eastern part is covered with a large-scale forest and there is Mt Asahidake (2,291 m), the tallest mountain in Hokkaido.
The temperature in Higashikawa changes dramatically in seasons. Summer is hot (but not too hot). It’s around 30℃. In winter, it could go down lower than -20℃. The large difference in temperature creates rich environment and beautiful landscapes.
